It produces figs that look similar to the Pastiliere fig variety, so it was called Unknown Pastiliere. Unknown Pastiliere has been described as a top tier fig by several fig growers. This fig variety is thought to be a Smyrna type fig that requires the fig wasp pollination to produce ripe figs. Since we are in a location with the fig wasps, we can not confirm whether or not this fig variety will produce ripe figs without fig wasp pollination.
